I am trying to be as nice as possible, but how can I be "nice" about a medical organization that intentionally distributes disinformation that will injure and kill tens of thousands of patients?
New clinical guidelines published June 3, 2024 at the Endocrine Society annual meeting and simultaneously published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism are the dumbest guidelines I’ve ever read, notably including the statement published by Medscape, “there's no single question and single answer about the role of vitamin D in health and disease, which is what people often want to know. There are many questions, and we cannot answer all of them", which is the dumbest sentence written in Medicine in the past 10 years.
My publications starting in 2004—a full 20 years ago—are better than all versions of the vitamin D guidelines from the Endocrine Society, a group of 18,000 physicians and clinicians.
