Today’s post is a slight reformatting of the same theme posted to this newsletter in 2022 in order to provide context to the new publication in 2025 showing the creation of another modified virus—“a replicating recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus (rVSV)” which has been genetically modified with the influenza “H5N1 virus” to create a transmissible “replicating” virus.
