*With regard to The Matrix movie: While I appreciate that it was popular and that some people found it insightful and “deep”, I personally thought it was just a repeat of the same Hollywood success recipe: fantasy, pretty people, and violence. Any movie that solves its problems with phrases like “We need guns, lots of guns” isn’t deep and isn’t philosophical (at all).
